Graham Winkelman is BHP’s Practice Lead Climate Change. BHP’s climate change strategy focuses on reducing operational greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, investing in low emissions technologies, promoting product stewardship, managing climate-related risk and opportunity and working with others to enhance the global policy and market response. Graham’s global role includes BHP's response to carbon and energy policy and leadership of BHP’s carbon capture and storage initiatives. External engagement is critical to his role, and Graham represents BHP through a number of high-profile fora, including the International Council of Mining and Metals, the International Emissions Trading Association and the World Bank's Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition.  Graham is a Chair of the International Carbon Capture and Storage Knowledge Centre and a Board Member of the Energy Policy Institute of Australia. Graham has a PhD in Materials Engineering from Monash University, and has been contributing to the resource sector's response to climate change for more than 10 years in both direct and consulting roles.
