ZHENG Xiaoying is Professor and Dean of APEC Health Science Academy and Director of Institute of Population Research at Peking University. She is the fellow of the World Academy of Sciences for the advancement of science in developing countries, a chief scientist of the National Program on Key Basic Research Project, a board member of the Life Science Innovation Forum in Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, the Chinese representative for Washington Group on Disability of UN, Vice-President of China Disability Research Society, and the leader of National Disability Prevention Action Plan Experts Group. 
Her research interests include population health, environment and development, social development and policy, and she has published more than 400 papers and books in the field. She won Celso Furtado Prize in 2015, and was awarded the Special Contributions Certificate for Reproductive Health during 2001-2008 jointly by UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF, WHO, and World Bank, for her contribution to understanding the interaction of the environmental and social conditions of health and disability.
