Speaker: Prof. Angelo Petroni, Secretary General, Aspen Institute Italia

Prof. Petroni holds the Chair of Logic and Philosophy of Science at the University of Rome, and he held the same chair for years at the University of Bologna. He was a professor at the Sorbonne University in Paris and at the Bocconi University in Milan. He is the Secretary General of Aspen Institute Italia since 2007.

He is a member of the Accademia delle Scienze dell’Istituto di Bologna, as well as Académico Correspondiente of the Spanish Real Academia de Ciencias Morales y Politicas. He is a member of the Mont Pelerin Society since 1988. He was the General Director of the National School of Public Administration of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the editor of Biblioteca della Libertà, Italy’s most important Liberal journal, a member of the executive board of the Italian public broadcasting company – RAI, the president of the board of Unitelma Sapienza, the only public online Italian university. He has been a member of the Board of Advisors of the Foundation for Italian Art and Culture, New York, and a member of the Board of Guarantors and a Senior Fellow of the Italian Academy for Advanced Studies in America at Columbia University, New York.

Prof. Petroni wrote extensively about the history and logic of scientific discovery in physics, the methodology of social sciences, and contemporary Liberal thought.
